Leonard Moore, age 86 of Harrison, AR was called home to join his family in Heaven, Monday, June 4, 2007.
The heavy hearts he left here on Earth are, his wife of 45 years, Willia Fay (Hutcheson) Moore; his daughter, Margie Eugenia (Moore) Rogers; his brother, Ellis Wills Moore; and a great number of very loving nieces, nephews and cousins, along with good friends and neighbors.
Among the host of joyful hearts that eagerly awaited him in Heaven are his mother: Margie May (Potts) Moore; his father, Roy Hiram Moore; his sisters, Mildred Magline (Moore) Slagley and Myrtle May (Moore) Holt; his brothers, Paul Moore and Fred Junior Moore.
Leonard was a quiet man who truly believed that if you didn't have anything good to say about someone, you simply said nothing. He was a man who knew how very important family was and truly loved each and every one of them. Even in latter years he would ask and worry about family members if he had not seen them in awhile. He was very proud of all his nephews and nieces. He truly loved every single one.
Leonard grew up around the Zinc area as a young man and lived most of his life in the Bergman area. Through the years he worked mostly as a farmer, but had worked at the old canning factory in Olvey, took care of a cattle ranch, cleared timber, and several other things.
He enjoyed doing a variety of things, such as visiting with family, hunting, fishing, trapping, hunting and raising bees, harvesting honey, raising beagles, gardening, rock collecting, driving his old Ford Pickup, eating a good watermelon, raising strawberries, wildflowers, roots, herbs, gathering bark and "Papas" chewing tobacco, and playing music with his family. He also played the fiddle and could really make it sing.
He will be greatly missed by all!
A celebration of his life was June 6, 2007 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
His going home celebration was June 7, 2007 at Holmes Cemetery in Bellefonte with Frank Whiteside officiating, where he will rest with his family. Pallbearers were James Hensley, Jack Hensley, B.J. Hensley, Mark Rogers, Bill Cook, and Harold Garrison.
