Obituary
Leo G. DePew was born April 13, 1930 in Manchester, Kentucky to G.S. and Mattie Evelyn DePew.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie in 2003, his grandson Aaron Purcell in 1993, his older brother Archie in 1980, his mother in 1992 and most recently his beloved father General Sheridan who passed away the same day at the age of 103 years old.
Surviors include his children Karen Johnson (Jim) of Jamestown, OH, Sharon (Steve) Ostrander, Marilyn Thompson of Medford, OR. Other survivors include his granddaughter Amy (Jerry) Ulrey and his 2 great grandsons Dillon and Tanner Ulrey of Central Point, OR. He leaves behind his sisters Ruby (Ralph ) Moeschl of Port Charlotte, FL, Wanda (John ) Wilhelm of Owasso, OK and brother Doug (Christy ) DePew of Greenville, SC and several nieces and nephews.
Prior to his illness he was an avid pool player at the Harrison Senior Center and in 2002 he out shot players from five senior centers to take first place. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and enjoyed attending Sunday school there.
Funeral services were held Saturday August 6, 2011 at Coffman Funeral Home with Mark Donald officiating. Burial followed at Maplewood cemetery.
Pallbearers were Doug DePew and John Wilhelm.
