Lela Kaye (Perkins) Smith, age 40 of Low Gap, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at her home. She was born April 15, 1968 at El Dorado, Arkansas the daughter of Tommy O. and Louise (Laws) Perkins. She worked for Wal-Mart and was a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Lela was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marjorie Brewer and Sydney and Isabelle Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Stacey Lynn Perkins.

Survivors are her husband, Terry Smith of the home; her parents, Tom and Barbara Perkins of Jasper and Louise and Ray Wood of Fordyce; step-children, Jacob and Telena Smith of Low Gap; a brother, Tommy Perkins, Jr. of El Dorado; a step-sister, Lechelle Walters of Vilonia; step-grandparents, Jack Brewer of Wickes, Arkansas and Neva Johnson of Jacksonville, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation was Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Funeral services were Monday, August 11, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Jasper with Bro. David Stratton officiating. Burial followed in Low Gap Cemetery with pallbearers being Tim Smith, Randy Reynolds, Stevie Reynolds, Justin Matlock, Chuck Watkins, and Brandon Hampton. Honorary pallbearers were Wal-Mart Associates.
