IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lee Noble
Wilcox
December 23, 1940 – October 29, 2021
Lee Noble Wilcox, 80, of Klamath Falls, Oregon, peacefully passed away on October 29, 2021 surrounded by loved ones.
Lee Wilcox was born on December 23, 1940 in the city of Sisseton, South Dakota to Lawrence Allan and Annetta (Canfield) Wilcox. They moved to Coos Bay, Oregon in 1950. Lee attended Marshfield High School though 1960.
That same year, Lee married Mary Lou Wilkinson on October 28th. Lee and Mary Lou lived between Gold Beach, Reedsport and Coos Bay, where he worked at US Plywood and Georgia Pacific. Lee and Mary Lou went on to have two kids, their son, Steven, and daughter Sara.
Lee was drafted twice into the US Army. Once in 1963, but those orders were cancelled later by President Kennedy and then again in 1965. Lee was sent to Vietnam and served as a Demolition Specialist until he was honorably discharged on Oct 15, 1967.
After leaving the US Army, Lee returned to Harrison, Arkansas, to rejoin his wife Mary Lou and the Wilkinson family. While living there, he attended Twin Lakes Vocational Tech School. He and Mary Lou moved back to Oregon in March 1969 and he worked at Conrad's Lumber for seven years and then went into the trucking industry where he worked as a freight driver for many years. In 1996, Lee and Mary Lou moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon where he continued as a driver until he took a job with the Oregon Department of Transportation, eventually retiring in 2003.
Anyone who knew Lee, knew that his second great love after Mary Lou, was his love of classic cars, particularly Pontiacs. He restored and showed many classic cars over the years and was considered an expert in the field, creating Lee's Classic Pontiacs, and earning the nickname "Pontiac Lee".
Lee was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou, parents Allan and Annetta and his brother Gary. He is survived by his sister LaVerle Shelley of Las Vegas, NV, his son Steven Wilcox and his wife Criselda of Astoria, OR, his daughter Sara Pearce and her husband Mark of Coquille, OR and grandchildren; Courtney, Ryan and wife Jahzlene, Isabelle, Gabriel, Elizabeth and Melanie, four great grandchildren; Roland, Caylen, Lonan and Liam and the rest of his extended family members and friends who were honored to have known him.
