Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Owens, age 85 of Diamond City, AR passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Baxter Regional Medical Center Hospice House in Mt. Home, AR.

He was born June 1, 1920 in Lawrenceberg, TN a son of Jack and Mittie E. (Gray) Owens.

Larry was a WWII veteran and had lived in Boone County since 1966. He had retired after being a pipe fitter for Southern California Pipe Fitters and enjoyed gardening. He was also a member of Lead Hill Christian Church where he was an Elder.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Naomi M. (Keeton) Owens; a brother, William Owens; and a sister, Pearl Owens.

Surviving him are his wife, Frances M. (Davidson) Owens of Diamond City, AR; daughter, Sonja Foster and her husband, Dave of Diamond City, AR; step-son, Jack Davidson of Tulsa, OK; granddaughters, Desire' Fritz of Long Beach, CA, Martha Fritz of Medford, OR, and Marjorie Laymon
of Las Vegas, NV; and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were April 10th, 2006 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Rev. Gregg Thurman, Rev. James Patterson, and Rev. Karl Roten officiating. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gregg Thurman, Cole Thurman, James Patterson, Karl Rotton, John Taylor and Dave Foster. Honorary Pallbearer was Sam Burr.
