Lavern (Richardson) Baughman, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021 at the age of 80.

The daughter of Henry and Frankie Viola (Roberson) Richardson was born on October 18, 1940 in Limestone, Arkansas.

Lavern was married to Jerry Baughman for 49 years.  Lavern was a registered nurse working within many areas of the hospital setting to being the Newton County Health Unit nurse for 10 years and the two years as school nurse at Deer, Jasper, Mt. Judea and Western Grove schools until her retirement.   She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parent, Henry and Viola Richardson; sisters, Agnus Young, Edith Richardson, Helen Liggett, Erma Gene Rawlingson; brothers, Larry and Ronnie Richardson; and stepdaughter, Deelee Baughman.

Lavern leaves behind her husband, Jerry Baughman; brother, JC Richardson; and sister, Johnnie Carlton.

Lavern's children are Curtis (Jodi) Cummings, of Harrison, Cheryl (Jackie) Clayborn, of Deer, Kathy (Merle) Houston, of Harrison, Carla (Nathan) Tomlinson, of Dunedin, Florida, Julia (Craig) Collins, of Piercetown and Della McCrory, of Bossier City, Louisiana. Grandchildren include Ryan (Megan) Clayborn, Shannon (Sydney) Clayborn, Shawneika Clayborn, Jake (Hayley) Clayborn, Carissa (Mike) Huey, Trey (Leah) Cummings, Colten Cummings, Amber Fain, Justin (Sammy) Henderson, Paige Henderson, Alayna Collins, Laythan Collins, Lee Clark, Jessica Tomlinson; and 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation is Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper from 6:00 to 8:00 PM

Funeral service is Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper at 1:00 PM.  Pastor Stanley Taylor and Pastor James Compton will officiate.  Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery at Nail, Arkansas.  Pallbearers are Ryan Clayborn, Shannon Clayborn, Jake Clayborn, Trey Cummings, Colten Cummings, Justin Henderson, and Donald Jean Richardson.  Honorary pallbearers include granddaughters and great grandchildren.

Flowers are welcome or donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Lavern's memory.
