Obituary

Larry R. Ward, 73, of Diamond City, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born June 26, 1943 at Paintsville, Kentucky to Tansy and Juanita Ward, who preceded him in death.

He married Shirley D. Holmes, March 19, 1966.  He was a graduate of Elida High School in Ohio in 1961. He was Veteran of the US Air Force, having served from 1961-1965.  He was a technology project manager with National Cash Register (NCR), Sperry-Univac, Sperry and Unysis for 40 years.

He was a member of the Diamond City United Methodist Church and an avid tournament bass fisherman for 30 years.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ward and a sister, Sue Childs.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Diamond City; son, John (Michelle) Ward of Naperville, IL and son, James (Patricia) Ward of Aurora, IL; five grandchildren, who he loved dearly, Kyle Chaires, Alex Ward, James Ward, Sara Ward and Ryan Ward, a brother, Carl Ward of Lima, OH, his aunt, Jewell Sole of Paintsville, KY and many nephews and a niece.

Celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Diamond City United Methodist Church with Rev. Pat Bodenhamer officiating.  Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Elida, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to NARMC-Hospice of the Hills, Diamond City United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
