Obituary

Larry Joe Ply, age 68 of Harrison, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, AR.

The son of Hobert and Imogene (Fletcher) Ply was born November 25, 1949 in Gassville, Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Terry and Gary Ply; and his daughter, Victoria Marie Ply.

Larry was a member of the Harrison Roundup Club. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting, fishing and horse back riding.  He was an artist and a welder and also enjoyed making knives.  While attending Valley Springs School he designed the Tiger that is on the wall of the old gym. Larry worked at Claridge for 32 years.  In addition to 3 years at General Aluminum in Texas and returned to Harrison, AR where he retired from driving a mail truck.  He loved his animals especially his three dogs, Sassy, Cinch and Bullet.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Jo (CJ) Ply of Harrison; his sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley and Tammy Ply of Harrison and Brian and Michelle Combs of Girard Kansas; his daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Scott Roberts of Harrison, Victoria Crain of Columbus, Kansas, and Cynthia Taylor of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; his sister and brother-in-law, Diamia and Ray Rhodes of Sherman, Texas; his grandchildren, Hunter Ply, Hannah Ply, Gabby Roberts, Dustin Crain, Nicole Johnson, Danielle Knopp, Michael Taylor, Brandon Taylor and Kayla Taylor;  six great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service will be 2:30 P.M. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Tim Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery in Pyatt.  Visitation will be at 1:30 P.M. Thursday prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Villines, Hunter Ply, Robbie Dodson, Bruce Emerson, Dennis LaRue, Joe Baker, Bill Phillips and James Hensley.

Honorary pallbearers are Hannah Ply and Gabby Roberts.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Harrison Humane Society, 5147 Rock Springs Rd,  Harrison, AR 72601.
