Betty Laquitta "Quitta" Simmons, age 86, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away at home on Thursday, March 26, 2026. 

The daughter of Cloy and Viva (Smith) Jester was born September 7, 1939 in Amity, Arkansas. She was a resident of Harrison for the past 62 years, moving from Arkadelphia. She was a member of the Church of Christ. 

Quitta was a hard worker. Her first business venture was making and selling crafts, which she did all of her adult life. An exceptional seamstress, her machine and hand sewn crafts were sold all over the country. She also founded and managed Muffler Core in Harrison for 10 years. 

Quitta was a beautiful soul, loving mother, and devoted friend. She loved to laugh and joke and especially loved to spend time with her grandkids. She was strong in her faith in Jesus Christ and was deeply loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 39 years, Bill Simmons; her son, Eric Simmons, her only sister, Joyce Martin, and a great grandson, Nathan Prince. 

Quitta is survived by her son, Kevin Simmons and wife, Karen; her daughter, Dianna Simmons; her daughter-in-law, Amy Simmons; six grandchildren, Matt (Bei), Skylar, Katy (Trey), Hannah, Billy, and Brooklynn; seven great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Connor, Jaxon, Grayson, Iris, Alayna, and Emma; her extended family, and dear friends. 

Graveside service will be held at 10 AM, Monday, March 30, 2026 at Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home. Joe Abbott will officiate. 

Pallbearers are Billy Simmons, Hannah Simmons, Trey Bass, Josh Miller, Michael Kuykendall, and Matt Simmons. Honorary pallbearer is Katy Simmons. 

There is no visitation.
