Obituary

Kenneth Dale Hendrix, age 86, of Western Grove, Arkansas, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

The son of Delford and Lorene (Hunter) Hendrix was born October 4, 1939 in Eula, Arkansas. He has lived in Searcy and Newton Counties his whole life.

Kenneth was a hard worker, working for Claridge Products – Extrusion Plant for over 20 years. He was also a hard worker at home, keeping a well mowed lawn. He was well known among his family and neighbors for his amazing vegetable gardens. No one could grow vegetables like him, and he loved doing it.

Kenny loved his family, especially his grandchildren, great grands and great-great grands. He also loved visits to see his brothers until his health no longer permitted.

He was a faithful Christian and loved attending church when he was able. He was dearly loved and will be remembered for his kindness, his happy spirit and his big smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Leisha Hendrix; grandson, John Thomas Melbourne, Jr.; and a great-great grandson, Shane Hendrix.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty Hendrix; his son, Utah Hendrix; three brothers, Bill Hendrix, Earl Wayne Hendrix (Glenda), and Harold Wayne Hendrix (Mary Beth); three grandchildren, Joshua Hendrix (Kelsey), Paul Hendrix, and Aaron Newberry; seven great grandchildren, Gary, Jarrett, Preston, Mackenzie, Sarah, Alden, and Rayleigh; five great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

Visitation will be at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM both on Friday, August 14, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Bro. Richard Bower will officiate. Burial will follow in Witts Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Earl Wayne Hendrix, Harold Hendrix, Bill Hendrix, Gary Hendrix, Jarrett Hendrix, and Preston Hendrix.

Honorary pallbearers are Utah Hendrix, Paul Hendrix, and Josh Hendrix.
