Kenneth Glen Dees, age 83 of Harrison, Arkansas went to be with his Heavenly Father, Sunday, December 5, 2010 in Harrison.
The son of Drew and Bama E. (Cochran) Dees was born April 15, 1927 in Harrison.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen Edwards; and three brothers, Curtis Dees, Billie Dees and Raymond Dees.
Survivors are his loving wife, Dorothy Jean (Sharp) Dees of the home; a son, Brent Dees; three daughters, Renae Wilkerson and husband, Gerald, Kenna Wilkinson and husband, Ronny, and Missy Dees, all of Harrison; five grandchildren,
Kimberly Powers and husband, Clint, Rhonda Taylor and husband, Brad, Dean Wilkinson, Travis Wilkinson and wife, Misty, and Austin Wilkinson; eight great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Kenneth worked in the lead mines of Leadville, Colorado for ten years and then in the uranium mines of New Mexico for another ten years. After moving to Harrison he began working at Claridge and retired from there after twenty-four years.
He lived a long and happy life. He enjoyed being outdoors and working on his farm. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. In the summer time he liked to pick blackberries with his great grandson, Ethan then give them to family and friends.
In his later days he enjoyed sitting in the yard with his family and his dogs, Jack and Poochie.
Visitation was Wednesday, December 8, 2010 with the funeral Thursday, December 9, 2010, both at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Leo Dye officiating.
Burial followed in White Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dean Wilkinson, Travis Wilkinson, Austin Wilkinson, Clint Powers, Brad Taylor, and Bailey Carter. Honorary pallbearers were Ethan Carter, Logan Wilkinson, John Earl Dees, Calvin Dees, Jessie Dees, Franklin Smith, Nathan Smith, Larry Biggs, Wade Roberts, Justin Carter, Ricky Vanzant, and Dustin Dees.
