Elsie Kay Wasmer, age 73 of Peculiar, Missouri passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 in Kansas City, Missouri.

The daughter of Walter and Jean (Pazdior) Ruhwedel was born on November 25, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois.

Kay enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She loved flowers and gardening. She enjoyed spending time going to garage sales and thrift stores. She had collected quite an impressive strawberry themed collection throughout the years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Wasmer of the home; her children, Jan Hiestand and husband Dave of Blue Springs, Missouri, Rhonda Mossman and husband Rick of Forest Lake, Minnesota, Ron Wasmer and wife Shelley of Richmond, Missouri, Michelle Pack and husband Jim of Peculiar, Missouri and Nancy Hill and husband Jason of Raymore, Missouri; two brothers, Gale Ruhwedel and wife Peggy of Western Grove, Arkansas and Dale Ruhwedel of Harrison, Arkansas; her grandchildren, David and Anna Hiestand; Chad, Courtney and Bret Wasmer; Sarah Buchan and husband Bryan, Rebecca Vandevelde and husband Nathan; James and Joseph Pack; Tyler, Zach, Luke and Kaylee Hill; one great-grandchild, Emelia Buchan; many nieces, nephews, cousins and others who will mourn her passing.

Services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison. Burial will follow at Crawford Cemetery at Everton, Arkansas. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Chad Wasmer, Bret Wasmer, James Pack, Tyler Hill, Zach Hill and Luke Hill. The honorary pallbearer will be Joseph Pack.
