IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kay
Norton
September 6, 1945 – March 7, 2024
Kay left her much-loved earthly family and friends on March 7, (2024) to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born in Harrison, Arkansas on September 6, 1945, the fourth daughter of Tolbert "Tollie" Williams and Ova (Savage) Williams. She was a member of The Church at Silver Valley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Joy; sister, Jean (Ralph) Mathis; sister-in-law, Jennie Sue (Norman) Davis; and in-laws, Geraldine and Cleat Whitt.
Kay is survived by her husband of 55 years, James R. Norton. She won his heart with the twinkle in her eye, spunky out-going personality, good sense of humor, and ability to talk to anyone. She is also survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sandi (Jeff) Ashcraft and grandson, Isaac, all of Rogers, AR. She is also survived by a sister, Janice (Al) White of Garfield, AR; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Judy) Norton of Harrison, AR, Doug (Ginger) Norton of Piggot, and sister-in-law, Jane (Larry) Cash of Prairie Grove, AR; as well as many family and friends, including her Supper 8 buddies and her only dog friend, Henry.
She was saved during Bible School as a teenager. Kay and James prayed for family and friends and several of them came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. While a member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church for 47 years, she taught Sunday School, VBS, and AWANA.
Kay was a self-starter and a hard worker who enjoyed campaigning for James. She lived a blessed life and loved being with those who were REAL. She worked behind the scenes as James and Sandi often took on more than they could handle. They referred to her as the backup and bail-out person. Most of all, she loved being "Mia" to her beloved grandson, Isaac, playing games and cutting up.
Kay worked as an accountant for Garrison Motor Freight, Arkansas Freightways, North Arkansas College, and their Crooked Creek Farm.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, March 10 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, March 11 at Maplewood Cemetery, with a celebration of life service to follow at 11 AM at Silver Valley Church, 2636 Milam Cemetery Lane, Harrison, with Pastor Rodney Stromlund officiating. Pallbearers are Jeff Ashcraft, Jerry Cash, Keith Cornett, Will Norton, Grant Ragland, and Mike Ragland.
Memorials may be made to The Gideon's International North Branch, PO Box 2846, Harrison, AR, 72602 or to the Ron Hutchcraft "On Eagles Wings" ministry, PO Box 400, Harrison, AR, 72602.
