Kathy Joan Slankard, of Harrison, passed away at Cox Health Center in Branson.  She was 67 years old.

The daughter of Chester William and Marjorie Lou (Moore) Roughton was born on December 11, 1954 in Neosho, Missouri.

Kathy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a devout homemaker who always took care of her husband and children.  Kathy enjoyed spending all of her time with her husband and grandchildren.  Some of her best memories were of her and her late husband, Larry, taking their grandchildren to hotels and going swimming.  Kathy enjoyed eating ice cream and listening to Bob Dylan with her husband.  Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and they were the only thing that kept her going after her husband and son passed away.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Slankard; her father, Chester William Roughton; one son, Richard Slankard; and a sister, Susan Roughton.

Survivors include her mother, Marjorie Roughton; one daughter, Tara Cosgrove and her husband, Stephen; one son, Shaun Slankard and his wife, Amanda Eastep Slankard; and five grandchildren, Cheyenne Slankard, Jacob Slankard, Savannah Slankard, Kaitlyn Cosgrove, and Shaun Slankard, Jr.

Kathy will be laid to rest with her husband at the Fayetteville National Cemetery at a later date.
