IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathryn Jean
Reynolds
February 21, 1937 – August 16, 2025
Kathryn Jean Reynolds, 88, of Lowell, Arkansas, passed away on August 16, 2025, at Shiloh Health and Rehab with family by her side. She was born on February 21, 1937, to James and Othella (Logan) Enright Sr. in Olathe, KS.
She married Delmer C. Reynolds on September 18, 1954, in Olathe, KS. Delmer was from Newton County, Arkansas. They moved back and forth between Kansas and Arkansas until the summer of 1980 when they settled in Witter, AR., but due to failing health, they moved in 1994 to Lowell, AR.
Kathryn was a homemaker and also provided childcare for others. She loved chickens. Bantams were her favorite and she could watch them for hours. She enjoyed gardening and harvesting, often working alongside Delmer. Kathryn loved canning, as well as butchering their own meat. Each spring, she gathered polk to make polk salad, which she canned or froze. She fiercely protected her polk, four o'clocks, and daffodils—plants that were never to be disturbed, only left to spread as they wished.
She also loved quilting, hunting, fishing, and tending fires. Kathryn always had a to-do list and made sure her family helped her wipe it out. She was always there for her family. Kathryn kept close tabs on everyone and wanted to be sure her family was doing well. That is why Thanksgiving and Christmas were hosted by her. The table was always overflowing with food. Kathryn cherished every minute of it. She loved being "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Even when others called her granny, she loved it. She loved playing Wahoo or Uno. Kathryn was highly competitive—she would gleefully send your marble back home or slap down a draw-two or draw-four card without hesitation. When she bested someone, she chuckled and laughed with delight.
Kathryn was saved during a revival at Freedom Freewill Baptist Church in Avoca, Arkansas, in 1957, and from that moment on, she put God first in all things. When Delmer was called to preach, she fully embraced her role as a minister's wife, caring deeply for others and accompanying him on visits. Kathryn attended countless meetings, church services, foot washings, and revivals over the years. She was never afraid to share her testimony, to pray, or to shout when moved by the Spirit of the Lord. On May 18, 1963, she became a member of the Springdale United Baptist Church, where she remained a devoted member for 62 years.
In her final days, she shared with her family that she had asked the Lord to allow her to see them one last time before He took her home. She wanted to tell them to be ready to meet the Lord. Kathryn was more than ready to go and be reunited with her Savior and her beloved husband.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 41 years; her parents; her brothers, James Jr., Richard Sr., Earl Sr., and John Sr. Enright; her sisters, Opal Egner, Floss Doyle; and a baby sister, Ruby Enright.
She is survived by her children Carlis (Mike) Turner of Bonner Springs, KS., Carolyn (Dennis) Luescher of Orrs Island, ME., Linda (Larry) Mccabe Huntsville, AR., Kenny (Deb) Reynolds of Lowell, AR., and Connie (Jim) Collins of Pettigrew, AR; including a grand-daughter that she raised; Crystal (Matt) Rowe of Hindsville, AR;
She has a total of 10 grandchildren
Tina, Kim, David, Katie, Dalton, Kyle, Ryan, Hayley, and Hannah. And 13 great-grandchildren
Katelyn, Elizabeth, Landon, Adilynn, Madison, Ravyn, Pip, Vanessa, Loukas, Cody, Jericho, Rylie, and Garrett.
