Shirley Kathleen Surber, age 71, of Pindall, Arkansas, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022, at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper.

The daughter of Clyde and Velma (Fisk) Surber was born in Pindall, Arkansas on February 10, 1951. She was a resident of Searcy County most of her life.

Kathleen loved animals and receiving cards.  She also collected stuffed animals and loved bracelets.  She loved her family and her nursing home family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Clarence Duane Surber and David Gene Surber, and a sister, Maxine Surber.

Kathleen is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Louise Surber; and several cousins, extended relatives, and many dear friends who loved her and will miss her.

Graveside service will be at 1 PM, Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Bellefonte Cemetery with Pastor David Faught officiating. There is no visitation.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Surber, Larry Martin, Cody Lambert, and Claude Ralls.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Nurses and Staff of Newton County Nursing Home.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Newton County Nursing Home who have become a part of Kathleen's family for the last eleven years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ozark Humane Society or Bellefonte Cemetery Fund.
