Obituary
Mary Katherine Brasel, age 77 of Jasper, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Florida.
The daughter of Randolph and Imogene (Young) Hill was born December 25, 1938 in Harrison, Arkansas.
She was a lifelong resident of Jasper and attended Jasper Christian Church. Katherine graduated from Arkansas State Teacher's College in 1960 (now UCA) and taught 1st grade at Deer Elementary School for 38 years. As a school teacher, she touched the lives of many children. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joys.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Reed "Roge" Brasel, her mother Imogene Hill and grandparents, Argus and Mary Young and her uncles, Guy Young, Sr., and Ford Young.
Katherine is survived by her daughters, Ann Brasel Davis and Mary Jon Brasel Haynes and her husband Michael, all of Marietta, GA; 4 grandchildren, Rick Davis, Drew Davis, Mallory Haynes and Parker Haynes; her cousins, Mary Helen Curry, Guy Young, Jr., Bill Young, John Young and Richard Young.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Jasper Baptist Church with Pastor David Faught officiating. Burial will follow at Jasper Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 4-8pm at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
Pallbearers are Brad Brasel, Mitch Brasel, Terry Brasel, Richard Brasel, Ben Hankins, Nathan Chism and Gerald James.
