Obituary

J.W. Farmer, age 63 of Jasper, Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Harrison.

The son of Sammie and Emogene (Ewing) Farmer was born on November 7, 1950 at Harrison, Arkansas.

He had worked for over 30 years for the Newton County Road Department and was a life time resident of Newton County.

J.W. was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved farming, hunting, operating machinery and helping his neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Ray Proctor; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Virgil and Evon Flud; a sister-in-law, Lavern Flud; and a brother-in-law, James Flud.

Survivors are his wife, Glenda (Flud) Farmer of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Courtney Farmer of Hasty; one daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Kevin Cook of Bass; one sister, Joyce Proctor of Elkins, Arkansas; two grandsons, Justin and Matthew; and one granddaughter, Emily. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Funeral service was Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Bro. Steven Holt officiating. Burial followed in Smith Cemetery at Vendor.

Visitation was Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.

Pallbearers were Bobby Raulston, Billy Raulston, Michael Eddings, Robby Flud, Clayton Swafford, Warren Campbell and Curtis Campbell. Honorary pallbearers were J.W.'s co-workers at the Newton County Road Department.
