Johnny Lee Vanderpool, of Jasper, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. He was 76 years old.

The son of Rex Lee and Dorthy June (Harris) Vanderpool was born on June 26, 1950 in Harrison, Arkansas.

Johnny enjoyed hunting with his grandson, Nic, riding in his Jeep, and spending time at the creek shooting snakes. Above all, he was a loving father and grandfather who loved his family deeply. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene; his parents; two brothers, Jerry and Jimmy; and one sister, Connie.

Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly (Nelson) Spears and Wendy Vanderpool; three sons, Timmie, Lonnie, and Jerry (Margaret) Vanderpool; numerous grandchildren including, Taylor, Judson, Hayden, Colton, Carlee, and Nic; several great grandchildren; his devoted companion, Debbie Kemp; and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial service is Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper. Pastor Denny Waters will officiate.
