Obituary

Johnnie I. Carter, 66 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away alongside his wife, Linda Carter in Highland, Arkansas on June 19, 2019 in a motorcycle accident.

The son of James LeRoy and Imogene (Farmer) Carter was born May 4, 1953 at Harrison, Arkansas. He was a lifelong resident of Boone County and a member of Bellefonte Baptist Church. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1971 and attended University of Arkansas. He was a retired electrician, working for 40 years with Loyd's Electric and The Noland Company. Not to be slowed down by retirement, he worked for Clay Maxey Ford traveling for car pickups. When he wasn't working or riding his bike, Johnnie could be found volunteering with Linda at Children's Charity Ministry.

Johnnie was an avid HAM Radio Operator, using the call sign, KA5ETD and most recently, W5JIC. He also enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, and tootsie rolls. He liked spending time with the Coffee Club and also was a VW fan. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved riding his bike all over the US, especially with his wife of 30 years by his side. They took countless trips together and loved seeing the country from their bike.

He loved his children and grandchildren and his dog, Mia. Johnnie was the best dad. He was very smart, kind, caring, patient and understanding, always quick with a joke and good at ruining songs with his own personal twist on the lyrics, and he never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, David Carter.

Johnnie is survived by his children, Jennifer Carter Stewart of Bergman, Kevin Don Case (Chrystal) of Harrison and Misty Dawn Henrikson of Harrison; his mother, Imogene Carter of Harrison; his brother, Kenny Carter (Tammy) of Lexington, AL; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeri Sue Douglas (George) of WA, Leon Earwood (Joann) of Springfield, MO, Glen Earwood (Gloria) of FL, Bobby Earwood (Brenda) of Harrison, Paul Davy Earwood (Karen) of Delaware, AR, Kathy Redding (Glenn) of Harrison, Robin Lane of Harrison and Tommy Earwood (Cindy) of Harrison, and Nima Gean Earwood of Western Grove; 10 grandchildren, Damien Stewart and Carter Dunn, Jordan, Jasmine, Austin, Samantha, Johnny Ray and Kassie Case, Mackenzie Williams and Alexus Henrikson; 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who loved him and will miss him.
