Johnia Fayrene Carlton, age 90 of Nail, AR, passed away February 18, 2023 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR.

The daughter of Ed and Betty (Martin) Wilson was born December 7, 1932 in Nail, AR.

She was a supervisor at Sarah Lee and had lived most of her life in Newton County. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, sewing, quilting, and taking care of her community. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Deer, AR.

Johnia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ishmael Carlton; her sons, Billy Carlton and David Carlton, her daughter, Tonya Parker; her sisters, Edean Gordan (Wilson), Lavern Baughman, Erma Gene Rawlingson, Helen Marie Robbs, Agnes Young, Edith Richardson; and her brothers, Pid Wilson, Gus Wilson, Larry Richardson, and Ronnie Richardson.

She is survived by her sons, Bobby Carlton and Jimmy Carlton of Clarksville, AR; her daughters, Jeana Breedlove of Rogers, AR, Betty Agnew of Russellville, AR, and Tochia McCutcheon of Nail, AR; her brother J.C. Richardson of Vendor, AR; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, AR

The funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, February 24, 2023, at the funeral home with Kelly Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Nail Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alex Freeman, Joe Cowell, Alex McCutcheon, Charlie Curtis, Andrew Agnew, and Evan Welch.
