John David Willis, age 43 of St. Joe, AR passed away Saturday, October 14, 2006 in St. Joe.
The son of Jerry D. and Mary (Baker) Willis was born May 4, 1963 in Harrison, AR.
John graduated from St. Joe High School in 1981. He worked at J & H Custom Furniture for a short time, then worked many different positions at Petroleum Supply, Inc. in Bellefonte, AR for 18 years. He married Janna Taylor in July 1981 and had three amazing daughters; Jessica, Jena, and Jillayne. He seldom met a stranger and loved to make people smile and laugh, especially his children and family. He had a kind heart and would do anything to help others. He enjoyed playing and listening to music, watching bull riding, coaching pee wee basketball and other sports. His favorite past times were riding horses, being at deer camp, but he mostly enjoyed watching his girls play basketball.
John fought a valiant fight. He was loved by so many and will be missed greatly.
Survivors are his wife, Janna of the home; his three daughters, Jessica Kathleen Willis and friend, Drew Vining, Jena Danielle Willis and fiance', Chris Adams, and Jillayne Danae Willis; a grandson on the way; his parents, Jerry and Mary Willis of Pindall; brothers, Clinton Wayne Willis and Joe Dale Willis and wife, Kimberly Willis all of Pindall; mother-in-law, Jerrie Taylor also of Pindall; grandmothers, Elma Willis Holland of Pindall and Rua Baker of St. Joe; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim and Pam Taylor, Terry and Monique Taylor, Eileen and David Kelley, and Thomas and Beky Taylor; nieces, Carrie, Samantha, Jackie, Danielle, Simone, Tiffany, Hannah, Devan and Lauren; nephews, Jeff and his wife, Misty, Jared, Zachary, and Brady; great nephews, Dylan, Rusty, Cameron, and Chance; many uncles, aunts, and cousins; friends too numerous to count; and his church family at the Church of Christ in St. Joe.
Service was held Wednesday, October 18 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison. Jim Gaskill and Jerry "Cub" Scott officiated. Burial was in Anderson Flat Cemetery. Pallbearers were Woodie Methvin, Keith Swafford, Jerry "Cub" Scott, David Mecke, Ron Morris, and David "Doc" Halliday. Honorary pallbearers were nephews, great nephews, and brothers-in-law. Visitation was Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
