Obituary
John Charles Rowland, age 84 of Jasper, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at his home.
The son of Walter and Dorothy (Poyner) Rowland was born on February 18, 1930 at Jasper, Arkansas.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. He was also a farmer, who especially loved gardening and had lived most of his life in Newton County.
His parents and two brothers, Frank Rowland and Dean Rowland preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Nina Rowland of Jasper, Arkansas; one son, Johnny Rowland of Little Rock, Arkansas; three brothers, Junior Rowland of Mt. Home, Arkansas, Jim Rowland of St. Louis, Missouri and Jerry Rowland of Heron, Illinois; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family and many friends.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Friday, May 16, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Pastor Larry Acton officiating. Burial will follow in Jasper Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers and all of John's many friends will be honorary pallbearers.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
