Obituary
John Earl Hunt, 61 of Omaha, Arkansas passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.
The son of Benjamin Earl and Georgia M. (Wills) Hunt was born February 22, 1956 at Hobbs, New Mexico.
He was a graduate of Brinkley High School and attended Burlington Baptist Church. He married Barbara (Johnson),the love of his life, on November 5, 1978. He loved to fish and hunt until his health no longer permitted, when he took up watching WWE wrestling and never missed a match. He also enjoyed old westerns and country music. He loved his cat, Snow White, and his dogs, Cinnamon, Angel, and Gizmo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant sister, Evelyn Marie Hunt and his father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Betty Johnson.
John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Hunt of the home; two sons, David Hunt and wife, Sylvia of Omaha, and John Hunt and wife Bekah of Harrison; two brothers, Doyle Hunt and wife Leslie of Valley Springs and Kenny Hunt of Harrison; one sister, Dianne Hanson of Omaha; brother-in-law, Doug Johnson and wife Lorna of Omaha; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Groner and Omaha and Sharon Goddard and husband Doug of Fountain, CO; five grandchildren, Katelyn Elaine Hunt, Faith Marie Hunt, Jackie Rachelle Hunt, Madelyn Lea Hunt and Andrew James-Earl Hunt; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
John loved his family and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. The love he had for his wife was undying and she was by his side until the end. He raised two wonderful sons who are just as strong as him. The battle he put up was a testament to the courage he had. As for today, we rejoice for him that he is dancing in Heaven. Tomorrow won't be easy, but we will see him again.
Celebration of life services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Burlington Baptist Church, 12431 Denver Rd, Omaha, AR.
