Obituary
John D. Gunter, age 72 of Jasper, Arkansas passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville, Arkansas.
The son of Jeff and Cora (Bell) Self Gunter was born March 12, 1943 at Pelsor, Arkansas. He was a farmer and a lifetime resident of Newton County.
John D. was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Linda (Campbell) Gunter; two brothers Arthur Gunter and Raymond Gunter; three sisters Bernice Freeman, Irene Freeman and Retta Mae Martin.
Survivors are his son Jonathan Gunter and fiancée Jo Ann Campbell of Jasper; three sisters Sue Carpenter, Lela Taylor and Jean Gunter; one grandson Jesse Gunter and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Bro. James Compton and Bro. David Casey officiating. Burial will follow in the Self Cemetery in Johnson County. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Ford, Randall Ford, Brian Ford, Douglas Holt, Steve Freeman, Garland Freeman and Steve Sarten. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Gunter, Clettus Gunter, Hulin Dean, Billy W. Freeman, Jerry Don Taylor and Manule Martinez.
