John Richard Daniel, 82 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524.  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the funeral home.

Following the services in Odessa, Richard will have a visitation starting at 10:00 AM and funeral starting at 11:00 AM at the Lurton Assembly of God Church in Lurton, Arkansas on Thursday, July 25, 2024. His final resting place with Military Honors will be at the Tarlton Cemetery. Funeral services are with Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, AR.

Richard was born on January 23, 1942, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Ernest and Margaret Louise (Crawford) Daniel.  He graduated from Deer High School in Deer Arkansas.  Richard was a Veteran of the United States Navy honorably serving his country for two tours during the Vietnam Era.  On January 7, 1974, Richard was united in marriage to Jo Ann Emison in Independence, MO.  Richard worked for General Motors Fairfax and retired after 32 years of service.  He was a member of the Wellington United Methodist Church, U.A.W Local 31 in Kansas City, Wellington Lions Club, and Mt. Hope Masonic Lodge #476 AF & AM.  Richard was very generous with his time and talent; he volunteered countless hours helping and items he made while woodworking.  In addition to spending time with family and friends, Richard enjoyed hunting, woodworking, fishing, singing, playing guitar, and traveling back to Arkansas to spend time with family and work in his shop.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jo Ann Daniel of Odessa, MO; three children, Jeff (Dina) Willard of Higginsville, MO, Lisa Willard of Odessa, MO, and Suzie Daniel of Robertsdale, Alabama; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Ann (Daniel) Thomas of Donna, Texas; one brother, Charles Wayne Daniel and wife Corene of Mabelvale Arkansas; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
