John Ancel "J A" Sewell, of Harrison, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.  He was 78 years old.

The son of John Ancel Sewell, Sr. and Ruby (Collier) Sewell was born on August 4, 1945 in DeWitt, Arkansas.

JA was a U.S. Army veteran, having dedicated eight years to serving his country. He embodied the spirit of a true cowboy, taking pleasure in riding his horse to herd his cattle and participating in cattle drives. After a lengthy career, JA retired from the Harrison Post Office. He had a knack for piddling; if something was broken, he could fix it. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jean Demma and Loretta Sewell; and a nephew, Danny Godfrey.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Sewell; three sons, Kenneth Sewell and wife, Keisha, David Sewell and wife, Pamela, and John Fuller; seven grandchildren, Eyan, Quintin, Korbyn, Aslyn, Daxtyn, Kevin, and Jacob; two great grandsons; and other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
