Obituary
Edward Joe New, age 59 of Jasper, Arkansas passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his home.
He was born on August 22, 1954 in Austin, Texas.
He had worked as a truck driver and loved hunting and fishing. He had moved to Newton County about twelve years ago.
Joe was preceded in death by his step-father, Wade Edgmon; a grandson, Dominic and a nephew.
Survivors are his mother, Charlene Edgmon of Jasper, AR; one son, Robert New of Tulsa, Ok; one daughter, Jautana New of Wichita, KS; one brother, Jerry New of Ft. Worth, TX; his fiancée, Anna Reynolds of Jasper, AR; step-daughter, Amellia of Deer, AR; four grandchildren, Samantha, Courtney, Kyle and Damon; several nephews, nieces and other family and friends.
A memorial service was held Monday, August 26, 2013 at Mossville United Baptist Church with Dorlin Sparks and Bobby Young officiating.
Burial was in Mossville Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Hampton, Marty Edgmon, David Edgmon, Aaron Villines, Everett Kellogg, Jr. and his many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to funeral expenses.
Arrangements have been handled by Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.
