Obituary
Joe Earl McGill, age 65 of Harrison, AR departed this life Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at his home.
He was born March 8, 1942 in Campbell, MO the son of Hobert and Flossie (Jarrett) McGill. He was a Vietnam veteran that served in the 101st Airbourne. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He loved his family and his country.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Emma; and an infant son, James.
Survivors are his loving wife, Regena (Akins) McGill, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Tamara McGill, of Harrison and Gary and Lisa McGill, of Bakersfield, CA; grandchildren, Shawn McGill and his wife, Jennifer, of Conway, and Melissa and Adam McGill, of Bakersfield, CA; four step-grandchildren, Matthew Henson, of Russellville, Amanda Davidson, of Compton, and Tasha Henson and Michael Johnson, both of Harrison; brothers and sisters, Charles and Barbara McGill, of Green Forest, Paul and Linda McGill, of Ceres, CA, Barbara and Ronnie York, of Strawberry, AR, Carolyn Reed, of Tulare, CA, Jimmy and Shelly McGill, of Tulare, CA, and Linda and Dennis Davis, of Visalia, CA.
Joe will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Visitation was Friday, February 22, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Service was Saturday, February 23, 2008 in Coffman Chapel.
Burial followed in Plumlee Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ted Leatherman, Joe Coulter, Brian Gottschall, Alvin Brasel,Andrew Campbell, and Joe Bass.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Tribute Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
