Jo Ann Apperson Sewell, of Harrison, Arkansas was born May 28, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri to Blaine and Gail Apperson and moved to Rolla, Missouri at the age of six. She passed away at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis on March 10, 2019 at the age of 76.

Jo Ann married Norman Sewell on November 13, 1960 and they enjoyed more than 58 years together.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Blaine and Gail Apperson and one sister, Teresa Gail.

Jo Ann is survived by her husband, Norman; two sons, Mark Sewell and wife Carol of Springfield and Bryan Sewell and wife Joanetta of Nixa; one daughter, Melissa Taber of Rolla; her sister, Kathy Lewis of Rolla; seven grandchildren, Ashley Parent, Brianne Sewell, Jordan Sewell, Branden Taber, Brooke Bono, Austin Sewell and Nathan Sewell; five great grandchildren, Jadyn Parent, Jaxon Parent, Jocelyn Parent, Lucas Souder and Preston Taber; and a host of extended relatives.

Jo Ann was a member of the Capps Road Church of Christ in Harrison. Though she worked at various jobs as the need arose, her passions were painting and her flowers. She will be missed sorely by her family, her spiritual family and her many friends and fellow painters.

Services in Harrison, Arkansas were held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 16, at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Keith Sharp officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior, beginning at 9:00 AM at the funeral home.

Graveside services in Springfield, Missouri were held at 3:30 PM, Saturday, March 16 at Greenlawn Cemetery with visitation held one hour prior beginning at 2:30 PM at Greenlawn North Funeral Home, 3506 North National.

Pallbearers were Mark Sewell, Bryan Sewell, Jordan Sewell, Austin Sewell, Josh Parent, Chris Bono, Branden Taber and Nathan Sewell.
