Obituary

Jo Ann Hunnicutt, age 87, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 3, 2021 surrounded by her family.

The daughter of Turbin Thaddeus "Bud" Gilliam and Mollie Elizabeth (Zerr) Gilliam was born April 10, 1934 in Hondo, Texas. After completing high school in Kyle, Texas, she attended business college.

She was a resident of Boone County for the past 41 years, moving from Yucaipa, California.

While living in California, Jo Ann worked in bookkeeping at National Field Archery.  After moving to Arkansas, she worked at Levi-Strauss and Ron Hutchcraft Ministries.  She regularly attended Brand New Church and was also an active volunteer with Mercy Mall.

She enjoyed archery, sewing, crochet and gardening, especially flowers.  She was passionate about helping others and being involved in the church.  Jo Ann was a hard worker who loved her family tremendously.

She was preceded in death by her parents, "Bud" Gilliam and Mollie Elizabeth (Gilliam) Pierce, her husband, James A. Wesley Hunnicutt and her brother, Russell Kenneth Gilliam, Sr.

Jo Ann is survived by her four children, Johnny D. Hunnicutt and wife Valerie and their son, Josiah Hunnicutt (Alena); Jan Lindsay and husband Kenneth and their children, Meredith LaBonte (Chris) and Elizabeth Falls (Josh); Juanita Jo Hunnicutt-Farris and husband James and their daughter, Coren Warren; Joyce (Hunnicutt) Sarquist and her children, Jodie Clark, Eric Sarquist, JoAnn Sarquist (Jason) and Addriana Jones (Nathan); 18 great grandchildren, Willa, Jett, Jasper, Judge, Sophia, Jacob, Gregory, Adele, Jameson, Everett, Kennon, Logan, Daniel, Anna, David "Trey", August, Cid and Flynn and a host of extended relatives and many friends.

A "Celebration of Life" for Jo Ann will be held at 4 PM, Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Brand New Church (BNC) in Bergman, Arkansas.
