Jimmy Segraves, age 70 of Jasper, Arkansas passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008 at his home.
He was born June 2, 1938 at Cherry Valley, Arkansas to Claude and Louise (Norman) Segraves.
He had moved to Newton County in January 1973 from Cherry Valley, Arkansas and had worked at Flex Steel in Harrison, Arkansas and was a farmer. He was a proud member of the Teamsters and was a member of the Jasper Church of Christ. He was married to his wife, Dean on July 25, 1958.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bobby Segraves, Eugene Segraves, and Billy Segraves; one sister, Marjie Cooper; a great granddaughter, Hannah Vaughn; and a granddaughter-in-law, Katrina Segraves.
Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Dean Segraves of Jasper; children, W.C. Segraves, Janice Vaughn, and Kay Segraves all of Clarksville; three brothers, David Segraves, Lanny Segraves, and Ike Segraves all of Kalma, Washington; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-6 P.M. Friday, December 26, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the funeral home Chapel with Phil Powers officiating. Burial will follow in Jasper Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Henderson, Michael Henderson, Tim Snyder, Ryan Rathje, Jeremy Rathje, Eddie Murphy, and Leslie Murphy. Honorary pallbearers Charles Segraves, Jason Vaughn, Daniel Vaughn, and Billy Vaughn.
