Obituary
Jewell Smith, age 79 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Monday, May 4, 2009 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.
The daughter of Dee Robert and Liza (Adams) Isbell, she was born October 28, 1929 in Leeds, Alabama.
Jewell had lived in this area since 1971, moving from San Diego, California. She was a homemaker and was a "Pink Lady", volunteering for the hospital.
Her parents preceded her in death, along with her husband, Donald Smith; eight sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors are her sons, Dale Smith and his wife, Phyllis and Steven Smith, all of Harrison; two sisters, Lois Johnston of Ashville, Alabama and Ruby " Bill" Bortfield of Birmingham, Alabama; four grandchildren, Christie Patterson, Angie Payne, Heather Smith, and Erin Paul; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was open at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Service was Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the funeral home chapel with Terry Bolin officiating.
Burial followed in White Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bobby Jackson, J. R. Payne, Brandon Mysinger, Arron Patterson, Larry Morris and Daniel Cannady; Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Cathy Clary, Dr. Blake Chitsey, Dr. Ali Abdelaal, and the North Arkansas Regional Medical Center CCU staff.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University, Little Rock 72207 or to the Ozark Humane Society, P.O. Box 542, Harrison, Arkansas 72602.
