Obituary

Jessie Rose Cochran, age 85 of Harrison, AR was called home to be with her loved ones and her glorious maker, Monday, August 17, 2009.

The daughter of George Alonzo and Jessie Lee (Fowler) Lair, she was born February 26, 1924 at Rally Hill, Arkansas. She married Elbert Cochran on July 5, 1943 at Harrison. They enjoyed three beautiful daughters, Sandra Lyn, Cheryl Elaine, and Teresa Diane. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a hard-working and strong woman and had a deep faith in Christ. She was most famous for her rolls that she cooked on weekends and special occasions for her family.
She was a member of First Christian Church and attended Olvey Christian Church. She was a former member of Rally Hill Friendship Club. She was from a true pioneer family with roots dating back centuries in this area. She was a Lair through and through.
She is survived by her husband, Elbert Cochran; daughters, Sandra Brasel of Harrison and Cheryl and husband, Johnny Wilson of El Dorado; grandchildren, Rhonda and Ron Prouty of Harrison, Dawn and Roger Whiteside of Western Grove, James and Karen Woodell of Bergman, Sherry and Tommy Sepulvado of Harrison, Lorna and Rick Dixon of Harrison, Paige and Michael Cary of El Dorado, Kevin Rowland of El Dorado, Erin and Charlie Duggan of Omaha, and Sarah and Brian Carruth of Washington, D.C.; great-grandchildren, Heather and Jeff Evans of Harrison, Shelley Woodell and Travis Woodell of Bergman, Jacob DeYoung of Conway, Kylie Prouty, Jason Prouty, Sonya Sattler, Cortney Sepulvado, Jasmine Johnson, and Keiffer Johnson, all of Harrison, Jarred Whiteside, Sam Whiteside of Western Grove, Brock Duggan and Alexa Duggan of Omaha, Tyler Carruth of Washington, D.C., Zac Molsbee and Garrison Cary of El Dorado; great-great-grandchildren, Isaiah Evans and Ashlynn Evans of Harrison, and Scarlett Woodell of Bergman; sister-in-law, Mattie Mae Lair of Rally Hill, Esther and Billy Adams and Faye and Eddie Laskey of California; and brothers-in-law, Horace and Lynn Cochran, Andy Cochran of California, and Jack Cochran of Washington. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Howard Woodell and son-in-law, William Brasel; brothers and sisters, Glendora Humphreys, Gladys McKay, Murray, Ralph, John, Bill, Lynn, Joe, Cecil, and Martha Maria Lair; and a great-grandson, Christopher Prouty.

Cremation and arrangements are being handled by Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

There was a memorial service Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Ben Byrd and David Artman officiating. Visitation was Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial followed in Bellefonte Cemetery.

Jessie will be truly missed by all her family.
