IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jesse L.
Davis
August 13, 1941 – August 13, 2023
Jesse Leroy Davis went to his heavenly home on Sunday, August 13, 2023, on his 82nd birthday (Daddy would say "bullseye!"). He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and Christian. Jesse was a faithful husband who loved the Lord and his family.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Jo (Turney) Davis; his daughters, Gwen (Joe) McMullen and Rhonda Davis Randall; his granddaughters, Jessica McMullen, Mandy (Kyle) Verfurth, Abby (Charlie) Holder, and Taylor McMullen; his great grandchildren, Logan Braudway, Claire Rains, Tucker Verfurth, Brynn Verfurth, Evelyn Holder, David Holder, Emalee Holder, and Amora Ramos; his brothers R.E. (Diane) Davis, Bill Davis, and Glen (Mary) Davis.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Grant Davis; his mother, Dorothy Hill Davis; and his sister-in-law, Betty Davis.
Jesse was born August 13, 1941, in St. Joe Arkansas. After graduating from St. Joe High School in 1959 as Salutatorian, he enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served his country aboard the USS Coral Sea until 1962.
Jesse and Jo were longtime members of First Baptist Church of Valley Springs. He loved to serve his church; he especially enjoyed the fellowship time of the Men's Breakfast, where he cooked the sausage and worried if Donnie Williams had cooked the eggs done.
Jesse loved working his farm on his John Deere tractor, golfing with his many friends, watching all things Razorback, and spending time with his wife, daughters, granddaughters, and great grandchildren.
