Obituary
Jerry Glen Swafford, age 74 of Everton, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri.
The son of Ernest and Ruth (Anderson) Swafford was born March 11, 1940 at Anderson Flat, Arkansas.
Jerry was a member of Beckham Church. He was the former operator of a slaughter house and was a cattle and dairy farmer. He was also a beekeeper, logger, gardener, and he made molasses. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing music on his guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Everett Swafford and Leon Swafford.
Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Genevieve (Hatcher) Swafford of the home; his children, Debbie Martin, Tim "Joe" Swafford and wife Rita of Flippin, Arkansas, Tammy Spence and husband Irl of Anderson Flat, Jeff Swafford of Anderson Flat, and James Swafford of Anderson Flat; sisters, Lena Cothran of Bruno, Arkansas and Nelda Smith of Lexington, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Samantha Rogers, Valerie Trammell, Mary Beth Swafford, Austin Spence, and Brookelynn Swafford; one step-grandson, Billy Endres; two great-grandchildren, McKinsey Trammell and Kenyon Rogers; four step-great-grandchildren, Myriah Endres, Olivia Endres, Corbin Rogers, and Aliya Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service was Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Anderson Flat Community Building (Old School House) with Dwayne Bryant officiating.
Visitation was 1 hour prior to the service.
Burial followed the service in Anderson Flat Cemetery with pallbearers being family members.
Honorary pallbearers was Joe Swafford, Raymond Morris, Billy Bowers, Rick Williams, Soloman Watts, Don Guthrie, and Larry Bruce Sharp.
