Jerry Dennis, age 73 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at his home, after losing his battle with congestive heart failure.
The son of Herman and Thelma (Goodman) Dennis was born January 10, 1939 in Enid, Oklahoma.
He was a member of County Line Baptist Church and an owner within the trucking industry.
Jerry loved his country and was proud to have served in the United States Air Force. He found joy spending time with family, and fishing and golfing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steven Dennis.
Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Sue (Turnage) Dennis of the home; a daughter, Tina Villines and husband Darryl of Harrison and their children, Kristina, Victoria, Krystal, Kim, and Dustin; a son, Ron Dennis of Harrison and his children, Maddie and Gracie; sisters, Shirley Reed and husband Joe of Kingwood, Texas and Pat Thomas of Memphis, Tennessee.
Visitation was Friday, October 19, 2012 with service Saturday, October 20, 2012, both at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Jimmy Dale Huskey officiated the service.
Burial followed in Plumlee Cemetery with pallbearers being Darryl Villines, Dustin Cook, Darrin Reed, Chris Reed, Jeff Chandler, Kyle Dennis, Andy Jennings, and Chuck Dennis.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Reed, Ronnie Christian, Bill Cotner, Nelson Logan, Wayne Berry, Bob Thomas, Dr. Blake Chitsey and staff, and the Legacy Hospice staff.
With his life on Earth coming to a close, he now goes to his mansion in Heaven for eternity.
