Jerry Elra Breedlove, of Jasper, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 18, 2022. He was 73 years old.

The son of Wayne Breedlove and Ruth Smith Stewart was born on October 9, 1948, in Deer, Arkansas.

Jerry was a lifetime resident of Newton County. He graduated from Deer High School in 1967. Jerry joined the U.S. Army in 1968 and honorably served his country until 1970. During his time in the military, he spent a year in Vietnam. Upon completion of his military service, Jerry married Kathy Novak in 1970. They were married for 52 years in March.

He was a skilled auto mechanic both in Harrison and Jasper. Jerry owned the Jasper Conoco for many years before opening his own garage at his home. Jerry was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Jarrett Willis.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Breedlove, of Jasper; two sons, David Breedlove, and wife, Kim, of Harrison, and Mark Breedlove and wife, Renee, of Rogers; one brother, Rodney Breedlove and his wife, Cathy, of Jasper; five sisters, Judy Willis, of Parthenon, Kathy Young and husband, Bobby, of Deer, Ava Harmon, of Harrison, Iva Coonts and husband, Dale, of Vendor, and Chris McCutcheon and husband, Gary, of Mt. Judea; four grandchildren, Justin Breedlove and wife, Sydney, of Harrison, Marcus Breedlove, Bryce Breedlove, and Breanna Breedlove, of Rogers; and two great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Jordyn Breedlove, of Harrison.

Visitation is Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper from 2:00 to 4:00 PM

The funeral service will be Monday, August 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper. Pastor Byron Mann will officiate. The burial will be in Jasper Cemetery. Pallbearers are David Breedlove, Mark Breedlove, Justin Breedlove, Marcus Breedlove, Bryce Breedlove, and Stephen Willis.
