Jeanne Yvonne (Ruquier) Mehmert was born March 29, 1927 in Gibberville, France.  She passed on to the Lord on September 28, 2018 at her home in Harrison, Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Paul Mehmert.  When plans for their marriage were interrupted by Paul's reassignment to Turkey.  She rode the Orient Express Train to Turkey to see him.  They eventually were married in Paul's hometown in Iowa.

Later on when Paul was assigned to Vietnam, Jeanne traveled to Thailand.  She waited there for Paul.  During a Thai military parade, she befriended a Thai Army Officer on a War Elephant.  He helped her up on the elephant and she rode the rest of the parade there.  She also took a local bus into Cambodia and ate there and bought souvenirs.

There were other daring exploits by Jeanne, but her love for Paul never wavered, ever.  Words cannot truly describe Paul's love and admiration for Jeanne.  Two hearts and minds would not be enough to hold it.  Now, he awaits their reunion with God.

Arrangements and cremation under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.  Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
