Jeanette G. Lowery, age 73 of Everton, Arkansas passed Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
The daughter of Arch and Bonnie (Teague) Merritt was born October 15, 1940 in Johnson, Arkansas.
She was a member of Newton County Baptist Church where she was a Children's Church teacher for 20 years and Director of AWANA for 18 years. She lived for the Lord and her church and enjoyed fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jim, Gene, and Gerald "Jerry" Merritt; one sister, Carrie June Gibbons; and two nephews, Archie and Marvin "David" Sappenfield.
Survivors are her husband, Bobby Lee Lowery of the home; daughter, Bobbie Benton Hull and husband Brian of Kennewick, WA; son, Steven Benton and wife, Beckie of Harrison; one sister-in-law, Joyce Merritt of Dayton, WA; three grandchildren, Julianne Evans, Kristin Granstrand and Katelyn Benton; and one great-grandson, Liam Evans.
Visitation was Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Newton County Baptist Church with the service following at the church with Pastor Rodney Stromlund officiating.
Burial followed in Beckham Cemetery with pallbearers being Don Covey, Wes Guynn, Wayne Kolb, Troy Breedlove, Kermit Lowery, and Gene Bell.
Honorary pallbearers were AWANA boys, Dr. Otis S. Warr, IV, Dr. Louis W. Elkins, and Dr. Charles Klepper.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Newton County Baptist Church.
