Jean Woodruff (Sylbia Jean Reynolds), age 79 of Bergman, Arkansas passed away at the nursing home on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in Harrison, Arkansas.

She was born at home in Parthenon, Arkansas on December 1, 1936 to her parents, Thomas and Delphia (Willis) Reynolds.

After graduating from Jasper High School in 1954, she wanted to become a nurse and was accepted into Nursing College however did not attend because she married Guy Woodruff on Valentine's Day the following year. During this time women weren't accepted into college if they were wives. College was only for single women.

Jean worked as a telephone operator most of her life but was able to become a hospital sitter for terminal patients after retirement. She helped many families transition their loved ones from life into death.

Jean loved books and had an extensive library of her favorite selections. She was very skilled at sewing and crocheting. In her later years, she enjoyed working with colored pencils. She was a lifelong gardener and loved planting flowers. October was her favorite month because of the autumn colors of the Ozarks landscape.

Her parents, her brothers, and her beloved dachshund Heidi preceded Jean in death.

Survivors are her husband, Guy Woodruff, her children Mike Woodruff and Karen Foresee. Her grandchildren and their spouses: Lindsay and Robert Hayes, Greyson and Chelsea Foresee.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison on Saturday, November 19, 2016 with Bro. Leo Dye officiating. Burial will follow in Jasper Cemetery. Visitation is open during business hours at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Greyson Foresee, Robert Hayes, Glenn Woodruff, Wade Roberts, Steve Flinn and Tim Schumacher.

Honorary Pallbearers are the Staff of Harrison Rehabilitation and Health Center.
