IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jean
Ward
September 22, 1941 – January 6, 2023
Lenora Jean Ward, of Harrison, Arkansas, received her angel wings on Friday, January 6, 2023, with her family by her side. She was 81 years old.
The daughter of Earnest and Edith (Schoffstall) Chesshir was born September 22, 1941 in Terre Haute, Indiana. She grew up in Terre Haute and later moved to California where she met the love of her life, Jim Ward, in 1970. They moved to Arkansas in October 1973, where she spent over 10 years working as a dispatcher for Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
Jean was caring, giving, empathetic and had a great sense of humor. She had a heart of gold and treasured her family. In return, her family adored her and she made a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Crafting and fishing were Jean's passions in life. Recently she had taken up scrapbooking. More than anything, she loved being a Nunny. Her grandkids and great grandkids were her pride and joy and she was so proud of each of them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim ward, in 1999; a son, Jerry Houser; daughter, Jackie Warnock; her parents; two sisters, Dinah Martin and Vera Creasey; and a daughter-in-law, Betty Chesshir.
Jean is survived by four children; Kelvin Chesshir, Rogena Steele (Dick), Edie Chesshir, and Dana Lewis (Chester); a son-in-law, Mike Warnock; two brothers, Delbert Chesshir and Jack Chesshir (Rose); three sisters, Sherry Boe (Don), Pat Working (Warner), and Corrine Bagley; 13 grandchildren, Brian, Travis, Diana, Laura, D.J., Shane, Steven, Nikki, Erik, Tina, Nathan, Michael, and Amber; 24 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison. Dennis Sisco will provide obituary reading and prayer, and Dana Lewis will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow at Western Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 PM - 7 PM at the funeral home.
