Juanita Jean McAlpin, of Valley Springs, Arkansas, left this world for one more on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at home at the age of 74.

Jean was born September 7, 1944 at Bellefonte, Arkansas to George Dewey and Agnes (Bridges) Horn.

She was a homemaker and a resident of Boone County most of her life. In her early years, she spent time traveling alongside her husband while he worked out of state. She was a member of Amazing Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Western Grove.

Jean was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her son, grandkids and her family were her pride and joy. She enjoyed cooking, having company and watching Turner Classic Movies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 52 years, Joe McAlpin; two infant daughters, Kim and Laura; a sister, Delta Horn and two brothers, Conrad Horn and Hoyt Horn.

Jean is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Michelle McAlpin of Valley Springs; her brother, Denard Horn and wife Bonnie of Valley Springs and her sister, Mary Jo Clark of Olvey; three grandchildren, Justin McAlpin and wife Rachel, Korte McAlpin and Taylor Briley; three great grandchildren and one great granddaughter on the way; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends who loved her and will miss her.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 9 from 6-8 PM at Jean's home, 5397 Murray Road, Everton, AR, 72633.
