J.D. Wallace, age 88 of Marble Falls, Arkansas passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 at his residence with his children by his side.

The son of Dewey and Iva (Skaggs) Wallace was born on September 5, 1926 at Yardelle, Arkansas. He was a retired Postmaster and a farmer. J.D. and his family won Newton County Farm Family of the Year in 1990. He served on the Newton County Farm Bureau board for several years. He was a WWII Army veteran who served in the Philippines during his military career. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being around the home place. He was an avid sports fan, especially supporting the Jasper Pirates, Arkansas Razorbacks and the Saint Louis Cardinals Baseball. He attended the Jasper Assembly of God Church and was a lifetime resident of Newton County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mae Lois (Morgan) Wallace; three nephews Terry Carter, Jeff Brasel and Marlon Carter and a brother-in-law Sammie Carter.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law Billy and Glenda Wallace of Marble Falls; a daughter and son-in-law Kim and Larry Fowler of Harrison; two sisters and a brother-in-law Geneva Carter and Judy and Coy Brasel all of Jasper; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be at 10 A.M. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Jasper Assembly of God Church with Bro. Steven Holt and Bro. Kenny Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Jasper Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, May 25, 2015 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.

Pallbearers are Jim Randy Laverty, Doug Brasel, Logan Brightwell, Tim Emerson, Joe Paul James and Greg Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Tom Langston and Jana Lou Ragland.
