Jayson Clay Poole, age 47 of Jasper, AR, passed away at his home on Friday, March 27, 2026.
The son of Carl Wayne Poole and Valerie (Williams) Mitchell was born May 21, 1978, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Corporal Jayson Clay Poole worked for the Jasper Police Department and was a Reserve Officer for the Newton County Sheriff's Office. He had a passion for law enforcement and enjoyed his work. Jayson was also a family man. He was a loving husband and father, and his family meant everything to him.
Jayson was a member of the Parthenon First Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and kayaking. He also enjoyed going to auctions and treasure hunts.
Jayson is preceded in death by his biological mother, Valerie Mitchell, his great-grandmother, Rena Sims, his sister, Lori Brinegar, and his grandfather, Jimmy Poole.
Jayson is survived by his loving wife Christie Poole of Jasper; his daughter and son-in-law, CJ and Xavier Lee of Jasper, his son Jackson Poole of Jasper, his father, Carl Wayne Poole and wife Keitha of Smead, AR; his mother Sue Poole of Smead, AR; his mother-in-law, Kay Pennington and husband Charles of Maud, TX, his father-in-law, Bobby Launius and wife Stephanie of Camden, AR.
Jayson is also survived by his brothers, Robbie Poole, Eric Harness, Brookes Weith, and Jimmy Poole; his sisters, Susan Watson, Brandy Roth, Amber Bailey, Beth Finney, and Ashley Castle, along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at The Parthenon First Baptist Church in Parthenon, AR, with Reverend Ty James and Brother James Compton officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Henderson, Shaun Wiseman, Barney Heft, Addison Ginnaven, Mike Blocker, and Anthony Kent.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kids Cops Christmas Fund at any Anstaff Bank.
