Jay Allen Fleck, age 58, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Harrison, Arkansas.

Jay was born on December 24, 1967, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was the son of Joyce Darline Tharp and Ronald Marshall Tharp, Sr.

Jay was preceded in death by his wife, Jenifer Whatley-Fleck, whom he married on June 2, 2007. She passed away in 2022.

Jay is survived by his mother, Joyce Tharp, of Harrison; his brother, Ronald Marshall Tharp, Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Cedar Rapids, IA; and many other loved ones who will carry his memory forward.

He had a deep love for the things that brought him joy and curiosity throughout his life. Jay enjoyed Legos, Diamond Dotz, puzzles, horror and other movies, video games, especially Nintendo, and comic books. These interests reflected his creative spirit and love for imagination and problem-solving.

Jay also served his country, having had a period of service with the United States Marines, an experience that remained a part of his life story.

At this time, service arrangements will be shared by the family.
