Janish Ann Smith, age 54 of Harrison was called Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, January 12, 2009 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
The daughter of Rev. Jimmie L. and LeAnner (Campbell) Dotson, she was born July 11, 1954 at Vendor, Arkansas.
She was owner of Janish's Upholstery.
She was a member of Apostolic Church of Bellefonte and enjoyed reading her Bible. Janish also enjoyed camping, fishing, quilting, and especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed listening and singing gospel music. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Roy and Edna Dotson and Jay and Daisy Campbell; a brother, Jerry Wayne Dotson.
Surviving is her husband, Samuel J. Smith, Sr. of the home; one son, Samuel J. Smith, Jr. and wife, Marcia of Lead Hill; three daughters, Renee Fisk and husband, Scottie Mark of Winslow, AR, Jessica Nalley and husband, William of Bergman, and Melisa Hatman and husband, Timmy of Green Forest; two brothers, Gary Dotson and wife, Barbara of Cowell, Randy Dotson and wife, Sharlena of Lurton; four sisters, Niva Mays and husband, Edgar of Cowell, Gennett Hunter and husband, Ross of St. Joe, Reda Criner and husband, Jack of Harrison, and Carolyn "Cookie" Bohannon and husband, Roger of Cowell; grandchildren, Caleb and Casey Smith, Scottie, Tabathia, Jessie, and Isaac Fisk, Alex, Elisa, and Kregon Nalley, Kamden Hatman and expected grandson, Hayden Hatman.
Visitation was Thursday at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Services were held Friday at Apostolic Church of Bellefonte. Rev. Russell Dotson, Pastor Leon Fontenot, and Rev. Vernon Fowler officiated. Burial followed in Crossroads Cemetery at Deer.
Pallbearers are Samuel Smith, Jr., Caleb Smith, Scottie Fisk, Jessie Fisk, Travis Mays, Tony Mays, Wesley Allen Sparks, and Kevin Risley.
Honorary pallbearers are Grant Fowler, all other of her nephews, cousins, and sons-in-law.
Janish will be missed by many, whose lives she touched through her witnessing for Jesus Christ.
