IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janie Sue
Rushing
March 14, 1944 – April 13, 2025
Janie Sue Rushing, of Harrison, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. She was 81 years old.
The daughter of Harvey and Dolly Turner was born on March 14, 1944 in Greenville, Mississippi.
Sue was a devoted Christian whose faith was the foundation of her life. Confident and unwavering in her beliefs, she gently inspired everyone around her to know and love the Lord. Her deep-rooted values were reflected in her kindness, generosity, and boundless compassion—she was truly one of the most selfless people you could ever meet, always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear.
Sue cherished her family above all and embodied the very best of what it means to be a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the heart of every gathering, a wonderful cook who brought people together with delicious food, laughter, and warmth. Whether you needed comfort, encouragement, or simply someone to talk to, Sue was the one you turned to—her calm, steady presence and wise words could bring peace to any situation.
She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Rushing; two brothers, Sam and Roger Turner; two sisters, Lois Neal and Hazel Huckabee; and her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Nathan Rushing; one son, Randy (Tena) Rushing; one brother, Charles Turner; one sister, Betty (James) Lynchard; six grandchildren, Amber (Billy) Chamblee, Brittany (Derek) Parks, Seirra (Matt) Mathis, Dolly (Michael) Harrison, Samantha (Michael) Leverett, and John (Trinity) Rushing; 11 great grandchildren, Nataly, Cadon, Jocelyn, Jameson, Jaxon, Ayla, Zachary, Cloey, Carson, Mikey, and Olivia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Graveside service will be on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Pastor Eddie Reed will officiate. Pallbearers include John Michael Rushing, Derek Parks, Michael Leverett, Michael Harrison, and Franklin Greer.
