James William "Bill" Strauser, age 95, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

The son of Raleigh and Elsie (Shiels) Strauser was born May 14, 1930 in Bloomfield, Indiana.  He lived in Indiana most of his life and was a member of Northview Baptist Church. He moved to Harrison in March 2025 to live with his son when his health began to decline.

James was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Korean War. During his enlistment, he was stationed in Topeka, KS and Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, AK, where the base was heavily involved with Strategic Air Command. After he was honorably discharged in 1953, he worked as a machinist for 45 years making components for ships and airplanes.

Bill, as he was known by family and friends, enjoyed building and flying remote-controlled airplanes, model ship building, and collecting coins and nutcrackers. He loved to listen to John Denver.

Bill was a good father, and a devoted and loving husband to Linda. He was by her side with unwavering care and support for several years during her battle with dementia, until she passed in January 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Linda Strauser; son, James William "Billy" Strauser; and sister, Katherine Shiels.

Bill is survived by his son, Christopher Thompson and wife Debra of Harrison; daughter, Sabrina Marie Hartley; 9 grandchildren, Justin, Jake, Jason, Ryann, Rachel, Raydon, Melissa, Amanda, and Alyxis; 3 great grandchildren, Dean, Jackson and Willow; and many extended relatives.

No services will be held.
