James "Jim" Surett of Bergman Arkansas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 11, 2021. He was 87 years old. He was born April 21, 1934 in Marietta, South Carolina to Henry and Nina Surett.

Those who moved on before him include his parents, two brothers, William "Bill" and Edward "Ed" Surett, and sister Dorothy "Dot" Moffitt.

Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pam Surett; and son, Jimmy Surett. Other surviving family members include one brother, Joe Surett of Chicago, Illinois; one sister, Violet Page of Greenville, South Carolina; a special nephew, who talked to Jim at least once a week, Gene Groves of Greer, South Carolina; as well as many more nieces and nephews. Jim is also survived by five grandchildren, Lacey Pruitt, Jordan Surett, Corynn Wells, Tyler Surett, Taylor Surett, and 9 great grandkids, all of the Harrison, Arkansas area, and two special, longtime friends of the family, John and Barbara Hagood.

He wished to be cremated. A small memorial service will follow at a later date.
